PRESENTATION OF THE TE-MSC-CMI SECTION

CMI QA PLAN
In order to cover the activities carried out within the TE/MSC/CMI section, the CMI Quality Plan paper sets out the general policy regarding Quality. This Quality Plan is based on the pre-conisation of the TE-MSC Quality Plan (EDMS 1970522). (Image: CERN)

As part of CERN, the TE-MSC-CMI section has the following roles:

●  The manufacture, maintenance and technical support of the cryostats magnets and bypass cryostat,

●    Design & construction of cryostats for accelerator SC devices and integration of technical systems

●    LHC layout and machine integration studies management of system interfaces

●    Technical coordination of LHC superconducting magnets

●    Maintenance of the LHC SC magnet cryostats and construction of spares (SMI2 facility, 189 storage)

●    Quality Assurance related to the LHC cryo-magnets (key role in LS1)

●    Development of supporting technologies and key technical  competencies

●    Support to LHC operation (MP3)

Quality Policy :

The complexity of the elements manufactured within the TE-MSC-CMI section requires the implementation of a quality management system. In addition, the difficulty of implementing corrective or curative actions on the elements installed in the LHC requires special attention to the quality of the products and the training of technicians.
